The iCare Foundation of Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, on Saturday made hundreds of residents across the Ikorodu division, smiled as they were provided with food items for the yuletide season.
A total of 1000 residents across the Ikorodu Central Local Government, Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ikorodu North LCDA Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Ijede LCDA and Imota LCDA, benefitted from the Rep. Benson’s Foodbank programme tagged, ‘Apo Anu’.
The distribution took place at the lawmaker’s constituency office along the Ipakodo/Igbogbo Road in Ikorodu.
Many of the beneficiaries radiated smiles on their faces to express their happiness at the gesture extended to them by their representative.
Among new faces that graced the monthly programme were Sir David Sunmoni, KJW, the Pro – Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo and Mr Akeem Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association who commended the federal lawmaker for the laudable intervention.
Speaking at the food programme, Sir Sunmoni described Rep. Benson as the constituency’s beloved son who has been delivering quality representation, and charged that he should be re – elected.
He also called for the election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate and other candidates in the coming general elections.
“I am happy to be here today to commend our brother and representative, Hon. Babajimi Benson who is doing greatly”, Sir Sunmoni said.
“This (Rep. Benson) is my brother and our beloved son in whom I am well pleased, listen to him. I pray that he’s re – elected.
“We want our boss, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to become the next President. Likewise, we want the governor of Lagos State and our own Babajimi Benson to be returned and other APC candidates too”, he added.
Chairman, lkorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo congratulated the beneficiaries for being among those that are receiving the food packages for the Xmas.
He also thanked Rep. Benson for continually supporting constituents and pray for his re – election.
Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development (LCDA), also speaking, said that Rep. Benson doesn’t discriminate against anybody.
He appealed to constituents to vote for all the APC candidates in the coming general elections.
“I am happy to be here again today to identify with the monthly food distribution programme by my boss. The scheme is not just for our party members alone, but also those in other parties because our representative, Rep. Babajimi Benson, is representing everybody and he cares about goodness of everyone and development of his constituency at large”, he said.
“We are appealing to voters to vote for our party’s candidate starting from the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Shettima and for governorship position, vote for Mr Sellable, Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu.
“Also, for the Senate, vote Sen. Tokunbo Abiru; Hon. Babajimi Benson who has been ensuring that constituents are not hungry and for the House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency I, vote Gbolahan Ogunleye, and for Constituency II, vote for Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA)”, he added.
