Ikorodu Kingdom has honoured the Publisher/Reporter – in – Chief, THE IMPACT newspaper, Olukunle Adejare Adewale Adelabu, with the ‘Young Achievers Award’ for his contribution to the growth and development of the community through journalism.
He was honoured alongside three others by the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), a socio – cultural and developmental organization, at the well – attended award ceremony held at the Arch. Olutusen Onafowokan Auditorium, Ikorodu Ultra – Modern Town Hall, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

Others honoured were Ikorodu Bois, a group of four siblings who recreate and mimic multi – million dollar music videos, Hollywood movie travellers and epic pictures; Comrade Olamilekan Biliamin – Oba, Chairman, National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State chapter and Mr Mathew Kuti, U – 11 and U – 13 World Table Tennis Youth Championship and National Table Tennis Championship.
The entire hall burst into a thunderous round of applause and big shout when THE IMPACT Publisher was called to the podium for the presentation of the award in recognition of his total commitment to professionalism in his journalism practice and community development.

Presenting the award to Adelabu, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, Executive Secretary, Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited/GTE and former IKODASS Chairman, said that the award was most deserving by the publisher, adding that he is totally committed to using journalism as a tool for social change and development of Ikorodu and humanity in general.
The Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba( Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, also commended THE IMPACT newspaper founder.

ADELABU Adejare Adewale Olukunle, is the Founder/Reporter – in – Chief of THE IMPACT Newspaper, an Ikorodu – based organization (print and online) which has been in existence since 2014 with wide reach and distinct news contents.
The Ikorodu – born journalist is from Oyo State, Southwest, Nigeria.
His parents are Oloye Emmanuel Olawale Adelabu, a former teacher, school head and senior staff of the Local Government Education Authority, Ikorodu and Olori Ruth Adebola Adelabu, also a retired teacher and Assistant school head in Ikorodu.

Adelabu is a Journalist, Tourism Developer, Researcher, Consultant, Writer, Art enthusiast, Traditionist and a community man with global worldview.
He attended Anglican Primary School, Ikorodu, for his primary education and later, the premier college in Ikorodu Division, Oriwu College, Ikorodu (now Oriwu Senior & Junior Model Colleges, Ikorodu).
Adelabu studied History and International Studies at Lagos State University (LASU) and Mass Communication at Lagos State Polytechnic (now Lagos State University of Science and Technology).

As Tourism Developer, Adelabu is the Founder, THE IMPACT Tourism; Co – Founder, Ikorodu Tour Group Limited and Co – Chairman, IREP – Ikorodu Division Rebirth Foundation. He has attended many local, national and international tourism events, workshop/trainings, exhibitions, conferences and festivals.
He is the Media Consultant/Adviser to the Oloja Ereko – elect, Prince Abiola Kosoko; Media Consultant to the Origin Zoo & Garden and Media Consultant/Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS).
