Ikorodu Chamber Of Commerce Seeks LASUSTECH Collaboration In Hosting Trade Fair

The Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry have sought for partnership with the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) in hosting the second edition of its Trade Fair tagged, ‘IKODIV Expo 2023’

Sir (Engr.) Chief Olukayode Shoderu, sought for the institution’s collaboration when he led members of the Chamber on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Olumuyiwa Omotola Odusanya, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

At the meeting were members of the LASUSTECH management.

Sir Shoderu noted that the maiden edition of the trade fair held in 2021 was fairly successful due to the effect of COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged the economies of the world.

He said that the Chamber is hopeful that collaboration with the Institution and other partners will ensure greater success come 2023.

Prof. Kunle Ade Wahab, a member of the Chamber who was Chairman of the 5th Lagos State Polytechnic (which the institution was until recently) Governing Council (1990-1992), informed the management that members of the Chambers are willing to contribute to academic activities of the Institution, especially in the areas of curriculum development and mentoring of staff and students.

The former University don who headed the Due Process Unit in the Presidency during the administration of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, further stated members of the Chamber who are experienced citizens in the areas of scholarship and commerce will be a huge advantage to the University.

Prof. Odusanya in his response expressed his profound gratitude to the Chamber for the partnership offered the University.

He said that the University is willing to embrace laudable partnership programmes as it is key to the development of the Institution.

The VC assured the Chamber of the University’s interest in the collaboration and that immediate actions will be taken to kick-start the planning of the Trade Fair and its execution.
