Senator Adeseye Kingsley Ogunlewe, a former Minister of Works and Chairman, Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) has been appointed into the highest decision making body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
Ogunlewe who is also the Chairman, Ikorodu Ultra – Modern Town Hall Management Board, confirmed the development to THE IMPACT on phone this evening.
His appointment made the number of APC chieftains from Ikorodu to be inducted into the exclusive political circle four. The other two are Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Governor, Lagos State, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, former Secretary to the State Government and former Commissioner for Education, Lagos State and Senator Mikhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District.
In his brief response to our reporter, the elder statesman said:
“Thank you, thank you IMPACT. Congratulations to us all. At long last. Congratulations to us all”
You will recall that the new GAC member last week met with the Presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is also the Chairman of the GAC, in the company of His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, former Vice Chairman, Lagos East APC and Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
The former Minister who retired as a Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Civil Service was the Pro – Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State till 2016, when he resigned his appointment. He was elected into the Senate to represent the Lagos East Senatorial District in 1999 on the Alliance for Democracy.
He was also a former Governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
