The Ikorodu- born table tennis prodigy and national Cadet and Mini – Cadet champions, Master Mathew Kuti, has conquered the world with his mastery of table tennis.
Kuti emerged Champions in the U – 13 and U – 11 World Table Tennis tournaments in Cairo, Egypt.
He achieved the U – 13 feat on Sunday while crowning it with the U – 11 Monday.
His foreign exploits have generated massive commendations from dignitaries and residents of Ikorodu who sent their congratulatory messages and love on the social media.
Kuti had, in July this year, won silver in the U – 15 team event at the International Table Tennis Federation African Youth Championships in Tunisia.
Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, Ikorodu-Oga Development Association, speaking with THE IMPACT on Mathew’s feat, said:
“We are truly proud of him,for his feat. He has again placed Ikorodu on the African table tennis map the way he did nationally and at the state level”, he said.
“We are not surprised by his achievements because we know that we have talents in abundance in lkorodu which was why IKODASS organised youth championships last year and we are planning another one this month.
“Congratulations to our own boy and champion, Matthew Kuti”, Mr Erogbogbo added.
