In its quest to provide safer environment for lives and properties of those making use of the Ikorodu Ultra – Modern Town Hall, the management board has parleyed security agencies in Ikorodu.
The meeting, which was at the instance of the management, was used to intimate the Director of the Department of Security Service (SSS) and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ikorodu Divisional Police Headquarters, with the operational activities of the hall.
The parley was held at the Gbadamosi Conference Room of Ikorodu Ultra – Modern Town Hall, during the monthly meeting of the Board.
At the meeting with the chieftains of the management board were: Mr Godswill Asuquo, Director, DSS Ikorodu Division and ASP Liadi Sekinat Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), Ikorodu Divisional Police Headquarters, Igbogbo Road, Ikordou, who represented the DPO.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe who also doubles as the Chairman, Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), welcoming the security personnel, thanked them for their services for Ikorodu Division, the state and the country at large.
He also commended them for the improved security in the division.
Ogunlewe, who was a former Minister of Works, while stating the purpose of the parley, said that the meeting was called to request that the security agencies extend their security activities to the Ikorodu Town Hall at all times.
The Chairman assured them that the Town Hall Management will always invite them for the IDRDG and Board activities, while also pledging support when required.
The General Secretary of the Management Board and IDRDG, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye thanked the senior security operatives for honouring the Board’s invites and for their impacts in bringing about safety.
He reiterated the Board’s commitment to work with the security agencies in ensuring security and bringing about socio – economic and political developments in Ikorodu.
Other members that also spoke commended the security operatives for their effective policing which they said has drastically reduced crime rate in Ikorodu.
Mr Asuquo, Director, DSS, speaking, expressed his organization’s appreciation for the opportunity to meet with some of the stakeholders on the board.
He stated that crime rate in Ikorodu grew due to cultism, land grabbing, kidnapping among other criminal activities.
The DSS head, who said that situational report is always reported to the State DSS Director, charged youths to be law abiding, adding that the operational system of the DSS is more of dialogue.
He charged the board to call for an enlarge meeting of all heads of the conventional and non – conventional security outfits in Ikorodu for proper and effective impacts.
The representative of the DPO, in her contribution, also thanked the management of the town hall for finding it thoughtful to call for the meeting.
She assured the eminent personalities at the meeting of maximum support from the Police.
She said that there is cordial relationship between the Police, DSS and other security formations in the Division.
Other members of the board in attendance were Prof M. O. Ajetunmobi – Vice Chairman, Management Board, Mrs Kafilat Hassan, member, Mr Lekan Biliamin Oba, Member, Mr Shakiru Seidu, Member and Mr Kunle Adelabu, Member.
