The distribution of ‘Apo – Anu’, the food support program of Rep. Babajimi Adegoke, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Defense, for the month of October took place today.
The foodbank initiative, which is being anchored by iCare Foundation, the working team of the federal lawmaker, was held at his federal constituency office with scores of dignitaries in attendance.
About 300 beneficiaries out of the 500 expected, were on ground to collect the monthly ration, a situation that provided opportunity for others who were not initially registered to benefit.
The Chairman of the occasion, Mr Adeleke Kara, who is the Commissioner representing the Ikorodu Division on the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Lagos State, toured the foodbank and afterwards announced that there were provisions for more than 500 residents.
“I can see here that there are even more than 500 bags of food items which Rep, Babajimi Benson usually distributes every month here today, but since many of those that registered are not here, others that are here should relax”, he said after taking a tour of the foodbank.
“They are all going to be presented with a bag of food items”.
Mr Kara commended the lawmaker for the gesture of feeding his constituents.
Also at the distribution were Hon. Gbenga Basanya, former Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rotimi Olowonishaye, former Vice Chairman, Igbogbo/Baye LCDA, Mr Kunle Olabinwonninu, Secretary to Ijede LCDA, Comrade Japheth Odesanya, former Secretary to the Ikorodu Local Government and Mr Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), the APC candidate for the Ikorodu Constituency II in the coming general elections.
