Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, GAC Chieftain.
Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Defense, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has stated that the first Secretary to the Lagos State Government, chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Reuben Basorun, is a unifier and exemplary political figure.
Asiwaju Basorun, who is also a former Commissioner for Education in the state, clocked 84 on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
Rep. Babajimi Benson, in a statement he personally signed, also said that the political leader is a formidable personality who has been ensuring that Ikorodu takes its pride of place among the comity of towns and prayed for the God’s preservation for the celebrant.
“My heartfelt felicitation to a political colossus, Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member and my father, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun, on the occasion of his 84th birthday”, Rep. Benson said.
“You have been a unifying factor, exemplary role model, fountain of knowledge and political enigma with uncommon dexterity in Ikorodu, Lagos and Nigeria’s political space.
“Your unwavering effort in building a formidable grassroots politics in Ikorodu Federal Constituency and ensuring the Division takes its rightful position in the All Progressives Congress (APC) fold, is enviable. May the good Lord continue to preserve you in sound health and prosperity. Happy birthday sir”, the second term lawmaker said.
