The Executive Secretary, Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board, Ms. Moronke Azeez, has stated that the Agency has always and will continue to prioritise enhancing the quality of Technical and Vocational Education as one of the solutions to the lingering unemployment challenge in the country.
Ms. Azeez stated this while receiving the delegation of Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB) led by its Executive Secretary, Mr. Olu Akinleye on a working tour of LASTVEB to understudy its administration and programmes.
The OGSTVEB delegation visited the Government Technical Colleges in Ikorodu and Agidingbi, during the tour.
She affirmed that LASTVEB is leading the national effort in technical education as reflected in its mission and vision, just as she proposed that Boards of Technical Education in the South West should come together to develop a strategy that will make technical education accessible and acceptable to all.
While pointing out the need to develop additional courses in technical colleges as dictated by societal needs to solve the unemployment problem in the country, the Executive Secretary also submitted that both boards should work together to turn around the apathy of citizens towards technical education, pointing out that LASTVEB programmes have always aligned with the T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda of the State Government.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (OGSTVEB), Mr. Olu Akinleye acknowledged the wonderful accomplishment of LASTVEB in partnership with various industries.
He said the primary objective of the team’s mission to Lagos is to tap from its valuable experience, as well as propose a collaboration on matters that would be mutually beneficial to both agencies.
