The Class of 1997 of the premier college in Ikorodu Division, Oriwu College (now Oriwu Senior and Junior Model Colleges, Ikorodu), has donated a borehole water facility to the old school to kick off the 25th anniversary of the set’s graduation.
The facility, which has multiple taps and sited near the hostel of the junior school, was handed over to the school management on Thursday, September 29, 2022, with the Principals of both schools, Vice Principal of the junior school and students in attendance.
Members Class of 1997 has been consistently extending their gestures to the schools with their previous donations including computer sets, school uniforms to over 200 students, borehole projects in other part of the school among others.

The grand finale of the silver jubilee anniversary is slated for Saturday, October 1, 2022, during which a N3million fund raising for 100 unit of iron frame chairs and tables for the old school, would be held.
Also, award would be presented to deserving members of the set and other dignitaries.
Mr Shakioye Olatunji, Chairman of the set, said that they deemed it fit to use the occasion of their 25th anniversary of passing out from the college, to give back to their alma mater.
He added that it is necessary to continually extend gestures towards the school which, according to him, has impacted greatly on them.
While announcing that the main event is slated for October 1, Shakioye thanked every member of the set for their commitment, dedication and contributions to the association and the old school.
Mrs Awojide K.O, Principal, Oriwu Junior Model College, Ikorodu, thanked members of the set for the donation while she also prayed for them.
“I thanked you for a job well done. I have prayed for you and will continue to pray for you. God will continue to bless and uplift you.
“We are not only going to be hearing your name in local places , but also in great places where you are going to represent this country.
“God will replenish all contributions that you have made and bless you abundantly and beyond your imagination”.
The Principal, while stating that the school is in serious need of the water project, added that she was proud of the members of the Class of 1997.
“I am happy that you made me proud. I can beat my chest and say that all the flogging that you received from me while you were in school have made you become better persons. Today, it has manifested and we all have course to thank God”, she said.
“Good job and when you do good work, it brings more hard work and I am looking forward to seeing you guys on Saturday where we are going to merry, wine and dine together. I thank you all”.
The Principal of the Oriwu Senior Model College, Mr Akeem Bello, in his own remarks, also thanked the set for their kind gesture.
He was represented by Mr Raheem, Vice Principal of the senior school.
Also at the presentation were Mrs Olowu C.O, Vice Principal of the junior school and students of both schools and members of the Class of 1997.
