Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, marked this year’s World Tourism Day with boat display and cultural activities.
Guests at the event held at the Takwa Bay Beach, Lagos, were also treated to dances and lots of entertaining activities.
At the special event were guests, industry players and tourism enthusiasts who started arriving Tarzan jetty, Ijede, the take off point, around 9.30am, arrived Takwa Bay at around 11am and were welcomed by David Ross and Takwa Bay team organising committee.
The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Navy Command and other dignitaries also arrived to add colours to the tourism celebrations.
Nkereweum Onung, President, Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), who welcomed guests and members to the celebration, dwelled extensively on the importance of tourism.
FOC, Western Navy Command, in his paper delivered at the event, spoke on the relationship between private tourism sector players and the Nigerian Navy in boosting growth of Water recreation and transportation economy.
Also, the trio of Chief Samuel Alabi, FTAN BOT Chairman, Chief Wanle Akinboboye, La Campaigne Tropicana Resort and Dr Gani Tarzan Balogun also delivered goodwill messages at the celebration.
