The Solomade area of Ikorodu was somehow on the red alert earlier today as commercial motorcycle riders, popularly called ‘Okada’, and some hoodlums allegedly attacked some police officers.
THE IMPACT authoritatively learnt that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ipakodo Police Division and the Station Officer were attacked at Solomade on their way back from bank.
The DPO, we gathered, suffered multiple stabbings on his arm.
It was further gathered that the vehicle carrying the DPO and another one accompanying him were also badly damaged with there windscreen smashed.
We gathered that policemen in the Ikorodu Police Divisional Headquarters, under the authority of CSP Balogun, earlier today, raided a black spot where hard drugs are allegedly being sold , dislodging and arresting some suspects in the process.
According to the report, after the operation, the DPO and his team were subsequently attacked while passing through the axis on their way back from the bank.
Police sources have confirmed the attack on the senior police officers to THE IMPACT.
While our sources said that the attack was unprovoked, they added that the Ikorodu Police Division would be out to bring to book those responsible for the attack.
Attempts to reach Chief Pashokun (Jendor) and other leaders of the Motorcycle Riders Association in lkorodu proved abortive as at the time of going to press.
