Comrade Oluwafemi Fakolade, Jpil., the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ikorodu branch, has commended Food Click Support Initiative and its partner, Pepsico, for providing food supports for 400 retired teachers.
Food Click Support Initiative, founded by late Bolajoko who died few months back, with the objective of ending hunger in the world, supplied the food boxes distributed to the retirees selected across the state.
The boxes, which contained 45 different food items, were distributed to retirees at the NUT House in Ikorodu on Thursday, August 4, 2022.
The NUT Chairman, Comrade Fakolade, speaking with THE IMPACT, commended the supplier of the food items and stated that the box was enough to feed a family for some days.
“This was made possible by the Food Click Support Initiative. Nothing gives us joy more than service to humanity. Thank you Food Clique for the love and support for our great union”, he said.
“There are 45 different items packed in the boxes. Good enough to feed a family for five days. It can’t feed anyone forever, but a box of hope when things seem not going well”.
Speaking further on the food supplier which the NUT Chairman said has been partnering with his branch to bring relief to teachers, Comrade Fakola added:
“Late Bolajoko, who died some months back, founded Food Click with the objective to end hunger in the world and they have been partnering with the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ikorodu branch, by asking us to nominate people to be food items as occasion arises.
“I am indeed extremely grateful to Food Click for bringing the food boxes to Ikorodu and for chosen Ikorodu as the venue for the distribution of the items.
“May the soul of the founder of Food Click, Bolajoko, rest in peace. He had always believed in the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ikorodu branch. He saw what we are doing in Ikorodu which is basically to look after the welfare of our teachers and he bought into it.
“While alive, he always complemented our efforts by bringing socor to our teachers”.
More so, Comrade Fakolade said that the 400 beneficiaries that got the boxes of food items were selected by the retiree association, while stating that the union would continue to collaborate with the initiative.
“Beneficiaries were selected by the Lagos State retiree association called ARPPELLA.
“On behalf of the 4, 500 teachers that are in Ikorodu, I am grateful to them. We appreciate them and hope to continue to partner with them. We also want to appreciate their major sponsors, Pepsico Foundation, which is an international organization that is committed to ending hunger in the world.
“May God’s grace continue to be sufficient for all of them and as God liveth, they will never go hungry”, he prayed.
