A grassroots mobiliser and senior council employee, Comrade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa has emerged the President – elect of the Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), an umbrella body of youths in Igbogbo, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
Ogumuyiwa, who was few days back elected as Trustee I for the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Lagos State Chapter, emerged as the President – elect with 49 votes at the IYC Congress held at the Adeboruwa palace on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
He will officially take over from the outgoing President, Mr Gbenga Odunniyi, when his tenure lapses in October.
Also elected at the Congress was Senator Comfort Olafare as the General Secretary. She is currently the Assistant General Secretary of the IYC.
They were returned elected by Comrade Sanni Toheeb and Comrade Ewulogbo Temiloluwa Chairman and Secretary, IYC Electoral, Commission, respectively.
Other officers elected were Odumuiywa Adewale Adeyinka (Vice President 1), Oluwadamilola Abisola Edward (Vice President 2), Obayomi Tunde Orekoya (Assistant General Secretary), William Odunayo Iwapele (Treasurer), Toyib Aina Oke (Financial Secretary), Aliu Mubarak Adekunle ()Public Relations Officer) and Ipaye Olawale Taofeek (Project Coordinator 1) and Awosanya Yusuf Olatunji (Project Coordinator 2).
Others were Adelakun Sulaimon (Welfare Officer), Idowu Hammed Odunayo (Chief Whip) and Aroyewun Adeleke (Legal Adviser).
