The management of the General Hospital, Ikorodu, has facilitated the registration of many of its staff for the Permanent Voters’ Card by partnering with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the hospital, the collaboration became necessary to ensure that staff members who have not been able to register are duly registered to be eligible to participate in the 2023 General Elections.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, General Hospital, Ikorodu, Dr Taiwo Hassan said that the exercise was conducted on 20th and 21st of July, 2022, by invited officials of the INEC.
The exercise, which was conducted at the conference room of the hospital, also afforded staff to transfer their polling units, make corrections, replace damaged and lost PVCs before the July 31 deadline of the Continuous Voters Registration exercise.
He said that the collaboration became necessary to ensure that members of staff are not disenfranchised due to their busy schedule.
The MD/CEO also stated that the management decided to bring the process closer and make it more convenient so that staff do not abandon their duty posts, because they are performing functions which are crucial and sensitive.
