The Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited/GTE, has announced the extension of applications for its maiden Scholarship and Bursary schemes.
The new deadline is now July 31, 2022, and not the July 11 initially announced.
The body, which is the security architecture in Ikorodu Division, had last month, announced a N20million scheme for both awards for indigenes and residents.
In a statement signed by Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Chairman, IDPIL/GTE – SBC, she explained that the extension was necessary because of the ongoing ASUU strike which is preventing many applicants to get either Head of Department or Registrar in the various institutions signed their application which is a major requirements in the application guidelines.
“The IKorodu Division Peace Initiatives Scholarship/Bursary Committee wishes to notify the general public of the extension of deadline for the ongoing 2022, IDPIL Scholarship/ Bursary Application process”, she said.
“The decision to extend the deadline is predicated on te on-going ASUU strike which has hindered timely endorsement of applicants’ forms by either the Heads of Department or Registrars of respective Tertiary Institutions; a requirement which is a condition precedent for further processing of the applications.
“The extension, therefore, is to enable more interested applicants to contact either of the two afore mentioned officers of their Institutions to sign the appropriate portion of the forms”, she added.
“Recalled that the initial deadline was on the 11th July 2022, 12 midnight West African Time.
“In view of the above, the application process is, hereby, extended and a new deadline for the close of application is now 31stJuly 2022, 12 Midnight West African Time.
“Finally, applicants are advised to adhere strictly to the instructions provided on our website at https://idpil.org/sbc/”, she warned.
