The Chairman, Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, on behalf of the socio-cultural association, has wished all Muslims in Ikorodu a happy Eid-Kabir celebration as they joined millions of other muslims globally to observe the annual festival.
Erogbobo also enjoined residents to put into practice lessons of the period in bringing about better and greater Ikorodu.
The statement signed by the IKODASS Chairman reads:
“I enjoin you all to put to practice the invaluable lessons of the season for a greater, better, more prosperous Ikorodu. Part of the lessons is being our brother’s keeper. Let us indeed remember the less privileged at this auspicious time”, he said.
“Do not forget the men and women in the frontline of keeping our community safe – members of Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative, the Nigeria Police and our health workers.
” Remember them in your prayers and celebration.
“As we share sallah meat with our neighbours, let us look out for their good because it is only through good neighbourliness that we can enthrone lasting peace and secure our community.
“During these occasion, we call for moderation; let us celebrate moderately and be alert to happenings around us.
“Idagbosoke ilu Ikorodu, a ju se”.
