The Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited/GTE, has issued guidelines for the award of scholarship and bursary for both indigenes and residents of Ikorodu Division area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
The initiative, which is being supported with N20millon endowment fund by the Chairman of the IDPIL/GTE and Odofin of Ikorodu Kingdom, Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN, is part of the group’s efforts to support youth development in the division and bring about a sustainable security.
According to the statement by the group, applicant for the bursary and scholarship must be full time 200 level students in any public tertiary institution in Nigeria with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) that can be confirmed, proof of indigeneship and academic profile attached with his/her application.
The application for the Scholarship scheme is based on excellent academic performance and it is open to indigenes and residents.
“Students applying for this scheme must be of good academic standing, not less than Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.5 or First Class for Universities and Distinction for Polytechnics, Monotechnics and Colleges of Education respectively’, the IDPIL/GTE guidelines stated.
The Bursary award is divided into two; Bursary 1 is designed for both indigenes and residents alike, Bursary 2 is strictly for indigenes and is designed to assist those with financial difficulties in furthering their education.
“Application for the Bursary 1 is based on Academic performance and it is open to indigenes and residents”, the statement said.
“Students applying for this scheme must be of good academic standing, not less than Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 or Second class Upper Division for Universities and Upper Credit for Polytechnics, Monotechnics and College of Educations respectively.
“This award is not tenured, it can only be enjoyed one-off. A background check on documents submitted by applicants shall be conducted”, it added.
“Application for the “Bursary 2” is exclusively for indigent indigenes who are having financial difficulty in pushing through their education.
“Although, no academic grade is required for this application, an applicant should possess not less than Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 or lower credit.
“This award is not tenured, it can only be enjoyed once-off. Only indigenes should apply for this category of bursary. A background check on the applicants shall be conducted.
