The representative of Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, hopeful, Mr Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), has reiterated his commitment to his party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
AMA, as he is fondly called, also stated that he holds chieftains and members of his party in high esteem, adding that his only concern is about the Ikorodu Constituency II that works for every resident and not just a group.
The Assembly aspirant, who is being rumoured to have won the primary election which took place last weekend, assured the party and residents of the lkorodu Constituency II of his commitment in a statement by his campaign organisation on Sunday (today).
AMA also charged residents of the Constituency to disregard what he called campaign of calumny allegedly being sponsored in some quarters against his emergence.
The statement was in response to a video chat which is been circulated on the social media, a copy which was sent to THE IMPACT.

IKORODU CONSTITUENCY II: CAMPAIGN OF CALUMNY AGAINST HON. ABIODUN MOSHOOD ARO (AMA)
Let it be heard by all that Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA) holds the people of Ikorodu Constituency II with great respect and affection. Changing the narratives generally in Ikorodu Constituency ll politically is his utmost concern and it is what drives his pursuit for the Lagos State House of Assembly (Ikorodu Constituency ll) on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). As such, he respects and holds everybody in very high esteem, especially, our party members, stakeholders and leaders. He will never do anything that will undermine the dignity of our party and will never engage in personal attacks against anybody. His pursuit of office will continue to be issue based on all that matters to the good people of Ikorodu Constituency II and not on any petty issue.
This is to inform members of our party generally, especially our highly revered leaders and stakeholders that there are series of character assassination plans being hatched on a daily basis to ensure that they mischievously bring Hon. Aro down at all cost. We have records of series of meetings being held with numerous people all because of Hon. Aro. They went as far as engaging some members of the opposition party, the PDP, in their funny macabre dance, to bring down Hon. Aro. This is very funny and shameful!
Agitation by an individual who in his opinion felt that Ikorodu Constituency ll deserves a better representative is being promoted as a political point. This is very barbaric. This has nothing to do with our Principal who was only tagged in the post. Let’s show some brilliance when playing politics.
We sincerely appreciate numerous members of our darling party who have sent in messages and called that we should ignore the petty attack on our Principal while castigating those behind this petty attack and concentrate more on how to bring everybody together for a saner Ikorodu Constituency ll. It is an established fact that Hon. Aro is more interested in a Constituency ll that works for everybody and not for just a group of people or clique. This remains his topmost priority and this he will achieve by God’s grace (Amen).
We, as a people, must not allow the tension and anxiety of the present moment to get the better of us. There are so many things that are beneath the dignity of our people and the exalted positions some of our leaders hold. This period will come and go and with time, if given a chance at cooler reflection of what some people are doing now, most of them will regret dwelling on pettiness just to grab power. The interests of the people we are craving to represent remain our main priority.
However, we must clear up some inaccuracies in their damning and spurious allegations:
Hon. Aro has been a strong and very committed member who have been supporting all that concern APC. During the last LGA elections in July, 2021, he ensured that numerous polling booths in Ijede and environs were well delivered to our darling party, the APC. Let’s stop promulgation of falacious rumours that should not be seen, heard or read or traced to some of our highly revered leaders as this is not the stuff the high positions are meant for.
Hon. Aro, a young entrepreneur, is a serious minded person with little or no time or inclination to attack character when there are so many real issues to be addressed. His primary focus is on the issues that matter in the lives of the good people of Ikorodu Constituency ll.
As the candidate for the party’s nomination and hopefully as the next House of Assembly member, to represent the good people of Ikorodu Constituency ll, our Principal’s approach will not be to sling insults but to propose solutions to the myriads of problems created via under representation of the good people of Ikorodu Constituency ll.
