The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, has stated that ‘Ajagungbales’ (landgrabbers) should have no place in a society where there is law and order.
The royal father also said that the land grabbing menace would be a thing of the past if the Nigerian Police decided to do their jobs in the way and manner it supposed to be done.
Adeboruwa made the assertion when members of the Ikorodu Heroes paid him a courtesy visit.
“There should be no place for ‘Ajagungbales’ in our community where we have law, but it’s unfortunate that we are contending with the menace.
“Ajagungbale ceases whenever police decide on doing the right thing.
“I have issued stern warning that I will not condone any Ajagungbale act here”.
The royal father, who was a state counsel before mounting the throne of his ancestors, also blamed residents as the cause of the Ajagungbales’ invasion.
“But we are also the cause. We are the ones that usually invite them to take over our lands and give them hectares of lands”.
