-Assures of rehabilitation of Odofin, Bayeku Roads
The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo and Secretary, Ijebu Obas in Lagos State, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, has revealed that his kingdom will soon have more health facilities that would take adequate care of the residents.
Oba Kasali said that the old Igbogbo Primary Health Centre along the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, which is currently undergoing rehabilitation, will be upgraded to provide adequate health care services to the community.
While also giving assurance that work will start soon on the abandoned Federal Medical Centre (FMC) along Iyewa Road in Igbogbo, Oba Kasali also added that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, has also given assurance that the terribly dilapidated Bayeku road, will be fully rehabilitated.
The royal father gave these assurances when members of the I – Heroes (Ikorodu Heroes) paid him a courtesy visit in his palace on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
The monarch’s statements were in response to the queries by members of the socio – economic and political group on what the royal fathers in Ikorodu Division are doing to replicate the General Hospital in Ikorodu in Igbogbo because of the pressure on it.
“We are not just sitting down in the palace doing nothing. I can tell you that work is seriously going on in the area of health facilities in Igbogbo”, Oba Kasali said.
“The Igbogbo PHC will be upgraded soon to provide more adequate health services to the residents with more spaces to accommodate more people.
“The abandoned Federal Medical Centre will also soon be completed, thanks to the motion moved by Hon. Babajimi Benson. This would go a long way in providing more care when completed.
THE IMPACT has written severally on the abandoned FMC calling the attention of representatives at the National Assembly to it before Rep. Benson intervened with the motion.
Oba Kasali, who stated that the community is in touch with Dr Benjamin Eniayewun, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Service Commission and also, the Permanent Secretary, Primary Health Board, also added that the two other PHCs are also been expected in different areas of Igbogbo.
“We are in talk with Dr Eniayewun, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Service Commission and also, Permanent Secretary, Primary Health Board and they have been of immense assistance in ensuring that we have adequate health care facilities for our people”, Kabiyesi said.
“Another health facility, a PHC is coming up at Igbe Oloja to take of people in and around that community and also another one at Ewu Abiye to provide care for the community and others around it. The Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA is fully involved in this”, Adeboruwa said.
Speaking on the deplorable Bayeku road, the revered royal father said that work will commence soon on the road which has given residents and other road users nightmare over the years.
“Work will commence soon on the rehabilitation of the road. The Governor has given his words on that. The project will start from the AUD Primary School/Odofin junction to the Odofin/Iyewa junction where it would be dualised down to Bayeku”, Adeboruwa revealed.
