Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, the incumbent representative of the Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Public Account (State), has stated that he would organized an empowerment programme for the constituents if he emerges winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
He also assured that he would work with Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), Hon. Gbenga Oshin and other aspirants that are aspired for the much coveted Assembly seat.
The two term lawmaker made the declarations when he attended the general meeting of the Asiwaju Basorun’s political group which was held at the home of the Chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) on Friday, May 13, 2022.
The lawmaker, who called Aroyewun out during the meeting attended by a large number of APC members, was endorsed by Asiwaju Basorun and his political group for re – election.
“I will like my brother (Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun who was present at the meeting) to join me. I have met with my brothers, Aroyewun and Oshin (Hon. Gbenga Oshin). We are one from same political family”, Solaja said.
“We have discussed and likewise, l have also discussed with others too”.
While appreciating Asiwaju Basorun’s comment, Hon. Solaja also appealed to the female members of the party to continue to have understanding and believe in him while adding that he would organize an empowerment programme for them after the party primary.
He also assured Aroyewun and other aspirants that their aspirations will not be in vain.
“I want to appeal to our mothers and every other person. We belong to the same family and there is no how we can do away with ourselves”, Hon. Solaja said.
“You heard the way Baba spoke and it was great delivery. We pray that God will prolong his life.
“I can assure you that he (Aroyewun) will not aspire in vain. Same thing with others that we are aspiring together.
“You have just seen little from all that we have done since we have been representing you. You will still see more. This is my house and I am not leaving Baba’s house and he has been guiding me on what to do which I have been complying with”, he said.
“I assure that you will see better representation.
“We all have to thank God that we are still alive even if we are not enjoying our lives because of COVID – 19 that struck in 2020 and 2021. If you look at what we did in our first term, you will discover that the COVID outbreak affected our second term.
“Let me assure that we are going to do empowerment after the primary election”, he pledged.
“I assure that I will always go around with my brother (Aroyewun), Oshin and others. Thank you”.
Solaja asked party members who could not reach him to always contact him through Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, a chieftain of the party, adding that whatever they request is will be attended to within 24hours.
He thanked leadership of the party, traditional rulers and other stakeholders in Constituency II, while seeking for their support in the upcoming primary election.
“Always come to Baba anytime that you are unable to see or reach me for anything and whatever he ask me to do will be done in less than 24hours”, Hon. Solaja said.
“I also want to thank Baba for standing by me, the same with Baba Olowu who is now late. Also, Sen. Seye Ogunlewe, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya and all the leaders in Igbogbo, Ijede and Imota. They are all doing good.
“I also extend my greetings to all the traditional rulers, religious groups, market men and women and youths. I want to appeal to you all to support us during the primary and I assure you that you will reap the benefits”, he assured them.
