– Confirms contract award for deplorable Bayeku road
A motion of confidence has been passed on Builder Olusesan Daini, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu Division area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
The motion was moved by a Chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun and supported by hundreds of members of his political group at a meeting in lgbogbo, on Friday, May 13, 2022.
The party leader and his group at the meeting, adopted Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its Presidential candidate and also called for re – election of Governor Sanwo – Olu, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, Rep. Babajimi Benson and Hon. Nurudeen Solaja.
“There is an important motion that I want to move personally”, Asiwaju Basorun announced.
“Today, I am moving a vote of confidence in our chairman. This should not surprise you at all. It is a way of promoting our own chairman and make him to do more”, the political explained.
“This is also a way to show that we love him and make him feel loved.
“He is not an angel. On this basis, I move a motion of confidence in Builder Olusesan Daini, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA”, Asiwaju Basorun said.
The motion was seconded by Mrs Ganiyat Oshin with loud shout of pproval from members present.
Speaking further on the Chairman, Asiwaju Basirun said that he and other apex leaders in Igbogbo/Bayeku agreed on returning Builder Sesan Daini for the second term due to his performance.
“We, the apex members, met to decide on the council administration. Out of 15 of us, 12 attended the meeting to discussd the issue of returning the council chairman”, he recalled.
“We agreed that he has been doing well and that he should be returned.
“It was Hon. Orenuga that moved the motion that he should be returned and Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa seconded the motion.
“Suddenly, after the meeting, I found out that the outcome has been posted on the social media that we have adopted the Chairman for return, which is true”, the elder statesman said.
“Immediately after the decision was published on the social media, others that had submitted their letters to me started withdrawing them”, the party leader also recalled.
He commended Builder Daini for his efforts in bringing developments to lgbogbo.
Basorun also pleaded that party members and residents should support his administration and show him love.
The elderly man also said that he has no quarrel with the council chairman.
“He has been doing his best since returning, though, with his own shortcomings”, he said.
“I beg that you should accept and support him. Kindly call his attention for corrections whenever you spot any mistake in his administration.
“I also want to state and emphasise that there is no quarrel between me and Daini. It’s not at this age that I will be doing that. Even if he’s fighting with me, I should not be seen doing that. I will always bring him closer”, he said.
“If he abuses me, I will always embrace him to do well”.
Speaking further on Builder Daini ‘s achievements, Asiwaju Basorun said:
“I am really impressed with what he has been doing these days. He constructed and donated over 600 benches and tables to schools.
“He is the one that fenced my former primary school. He also facilitated a primary school at Olu – Odo where they did not have one before.
“He is complimenting our efforts in bringing developments to lgbogbo.
The GAC said that the governor of the state has awarded contract for the construction of the collapsed igbogbo/Bayeku road and that work will soon commence on it.
“Kabiyesi (Oba Semiudeen Kasali) and l went to see the governor on the 14th of Aptil on three issues; where we called the governor’s attention to the deplorable state of Bayeku road and the stoppage of work on the Bola Ahmed Tinubu and also the Igbogbo stadium”, he said.
“HiTech are now back on the road to continue the construction work on the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road and the governor had also directed that palliative work should commence immediately on the Bayeku road which he has awarded its contract”, he added.
“We were also assured that the Igbogbo stadium will be commissioned in June. Work is going on there now.
“When we returned, we briefed him on the meeting and he too started making his own consultations”.
