Boluwatife Hassan, a fast – growing ‘Hypeman’ personality within the entertainment industry, has declared that his next major aim is to attempt the Guinness Book of Work Record this year.
The passionate and resourceful entertainer, popularly known by is stage name, ‘King Tife’, is attempting to be the first – ever entertainer to hype for 24 hours without stopping, a feat he said has never be attained before.
Tife, who has hosted his own shows with large attendance, said that he plans to set world a record and be the greatest hype-man in Africa.
“Yes, I plan to set a world record with the Guinness Book of World Record, sometime soon. I want to be one of the greatest hype-men to ever come out of Africa”, he said.
The graduate of Mass Communication from the Lagos State Polytechnic (now, Lagos State University of Science & Technology), who developed interest in hyping, came to limelight during a school function in October 2019, when he had to step in and save the day after the hired hype-man disappointed.
“It started in October 2019. My first gig was free. It was my department orientation day, after the main event, it was time for the party and the hype-man that was hired could not show up for some reasons. I felt I could do it, I’ve watched people do it and I enjoyed watching them and so, I stepped out and did it. That was how it started”, he recalled.
Speaking on his first stage experience, Tife said that he was anxious and frightened, but people loved his performance.
“I wouldn’t lie, I was anxious. I had hosted events before as an MC, so, I just gave it a shot. I had the usual stage fright. Even though I felt I didn’t do well enough, people loved what I was doing and that was the push I needed at the time”.
The Masscom graduate stated that all that he has ever dreamt of is to be an entertainer, either as an actor or media person.
“I had always wanted to be in the entertainment scene, either as an actor or media personnel. I love it. During my early days in school, I used to be a skit maker. That’s story for another day”, he stated while putting our reporter and his fans in suspense.
On his exploit in the industry, Tife said that he had performed in high capacity halls, hosted events for many big brands and performed alongside top music acts and Deejays.
“I have hosted several concerts at the prestigious 500 and 700 capacity halls in LASPOTECH and the school podium”, he said.
“I have also hosted brand activations for big brands like La Casera, Tecno, Indomie, Leadway, and Bet9ja. There is also the Most Beautiful Girl in Ogun State pageantry amongst several other top gigs.
“I have performed at clubs, weddings and house parties. I have also performed alongside A-lists acts like Bella Shmurda, Poco Lee, Dj 4kerty, Naira Marley, Mohbad, Zinoleesky, Dj Kaywise, Dj OPDOT, Dj A4, Dj Paranormal and several others”, he said.
