Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Reuben Basorun, a Chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) on Thursday, April 21, 2022, unveiled a new secretariat for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Igbogbo/Byaeku Local Government Area (LGA) with the charge that members should endeavour to get their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) for elections.
The rented four bedroom apartment secretariat is located beside the Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo.
Also at the opening were Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Deputy leader, Ikorodu Divisional Apex, Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Maja, Vice Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Gbenga Basanya, former Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Yeye Asiwaju Bolanle Basorun, former Sole Administrator, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Mr Taiwo Orenuga, Chairman, APC, Igbogbo/Bayeku LGA among others.
APC Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LGA, Mr Taiwo Orenuga whose administration secured the apartment, while thanking the party for the opportunity given to him and his executives to serve the party and thanked those that supported his administration in achieving the project.
“I must confess that today’s project/dedication would have been practically impossible if not for the supportive efforts of the public, spirited, service – minded and God fearing members of our great party – All Progressives Congress (APC) – Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member, House of Representatives, Hon. Nurudeen Saka Solaja, Builder Olusesan M. Daini, Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, Asiwaju R.O. Basorun and apex leadership of Igbogbo/Bayeku LGA”, he said.
While also seeking for further support, Mr Orenuga assured that his administration will do everything to strengthen and unite the party.
“We assure you that we shall do everything within our power to unite, strengthen and stabilize the party, APC, in our Local Government Area (LGA), so that the party will ensure victory in the forthcoming elections at all levels.
“We have resolved and determined to build a formidable party for the progress and prosperity of everyone and generations yet unborn in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Government Area.
“We will appreciate inputs and advice to make the administration an all – inclusive business.
“Also, we are determined and resolved to enhance membership drive, strategies for political campaigns, mobilization of voters and electoral success”.
He charged members of the party to jettison their grievances and work together for the progress of the party.
Chieftain of the GAC, Asiwaju Basorun, in his remarks, charged party members to support the new party executives for success in the coming election.
While stating that there is still so much work for the party to be done, Asiwaju Basorun said that the Lagos State APC has collectively agreed to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s candidate for the Presidential election.
While also stating that the party has resolved that the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, should return for a second term, the party leader charged APC members in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, to vote with sense of responsibilities for aspirants that will perform in the other positions.
Also speaking, former Commissioner for Agriculture & Cooperatives, Lagos State and apex Divisional leader in Ikorodu APC, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya charged members of the party to ensure that there is improvement in the number of votes in the next general elections.
He charged that officers of the party must ensure that they mobilise residents to register for their PVCs so as to prove that Ikorodu Division has more people.
He also corroborated Asiwaju Basorun’s statement that Lagos State APC is supporting the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Tinubu and the re –e lection of the governor of the state.
Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, also called for unity amongst party members, going into the next elections.
He said that the party’s decision would prevail on who emerged as party candidates for various posts.
Also at the unveiling event were Barr. Ade Ayeni, Secretary to Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Pastor Ayetoba, former Chairman, APC Igbogbo/Bayeku LGA, Members of the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Legislative Arm, Cabinet members of the country among others.
