– Ikorodu, Imota LGs to constitute own cabinets Tuesday
Igbogbo/Byaeku and Ijede Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) emerged as first set of councils in lkorodu division to swear – in newly appointed Secretaries to the Local Government (SLGs), Supervisory Councilors and Special Advisers.
The new political appointees were screened by the members of the Legislative Arm of the two councils after which approval was given for their swearing in.
The appointment list was released by the state body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, April 7, 2022.
Ikorodu West LCDA legislators also screened the appointees today (April ? after which they were all confirmed. We gathered that they would be sworn – in on Monday, April 11.
With the swearing – in of the new appointees, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA now has the full composition of its government with the Vice Chairman, Hon. Muraini Oke-Maja, doubling as the Supervisor in-charge of Education and Library Services.
Barr. Ade Ayeni, who retained his position as the Secretary to the Local Government and will also be in-charge of the Peace and Security Affairs, was the first appointee to be sworn-in.
The duo of Mr Wahid A. Yusuf and Mr Adewale Bolowotan were sworn-in as Supervisors for Works and Civic Engagement and Strategy respectively.
National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Coordinator, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Lateef Odusanya is assigned the supervisory role over Planning, Budget and Statistics/ Information Communication Technology of the council.
Former Councilor, Hon. Wasiu Olowu is saddled with the Tourism and Special Duties, Mrs Mariam Obayomi, Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and Rural Development while Mr Dawuda Oshilaja will supervise the Environment and Waste Management.
Special Advisers appointed are Mr Yinka Ogunlaja, Special Adviser on Primary Health Care and Micheal Babatunde Ayeni, Special Adviser, Agriculture, Youth and Sports.
Meanwhile, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, Chairman, Ikorodu LG, has said that the list for the SLG, Supervisors and Advisers of the council will be made public on Monday after being presented to the Council’s Legislative Arm.
The Council boss, whom our reporter eventually spoke with yesterday after many attempts, specifically promised to make the list available to THE IMPACT.
When asked further about names on the list, he said:
“I cannot make the list public now until I present it to the Legislative Arm of the Council for screening and confirmation on Monday. Yakub Ajalogun is one of the names on the list. That should be okay for today”, he said.
When engaged furthermore, the Chairman also availed our reporter the name of the nominee for the Secretary to the Council who is the former occupant of the position, Alhaji Lateef Afinni.
“Okay, Afinni is also one of them. He will be the Secretary to the Council”, Hon. Adeshina added.
In a list been circulated, Afinni Lateef Adeshina is listed as the Secretary to the Ikorodu LG as stated by the Chairman, Hon. Adeshina.
Sowemimo Kazeem Abioye, Sowemimo Owolabi Sikiru, Shafari Murisiku Adeniyi, Ajalogun Yakub Oluwaseun, Oyefusi Laterf Afolabi, Alejo Misbaudeen Adegboyega, Rotinwa Misbaudeen Olasunkanmi are listed for Supervisor roles.
Seyi Fadeyi and Adebiyi Olaide are the two nominees for the positions of Special Advisers to the Chairman
In Imota, Muhammed Hakeem Fagbesan, a former Supervisory Councilor in charge of Works, will serve as the Secretary to the Council.
Appointed into supervisory positions are Mrs Bisoye Omowunmi Jimoh, Mr Hassan Anjorin, Mr Ayodele Abass, Mr Olufemi Okedeyi, Mr Musediku Odumosu, Mr Olugbenga Nosiru Akinsanya and Mrs Saidat Olawale.
Mr Adebola Lateef is the sole Special Adviser appointed.
Speaking with Hon. Wasiu Agoro, Chairman, Imota LCDA, he confirmed the list and told our reporter that it would be presented to the Council’s Legislative Arm on Monday and that the swearing-in will take place the same day.
