-School gets new Prefects
Fatom School located in Igbogbo in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, held its 3rd Inter – House Sports on Friday, April 7, 2022, with the Blue House emerging the champions.
The House, named in honour of a young politician, community developer and entrepreneur, Mr Aro Moshood Abiodun, popularly called ‘AMA’, emerged winners of the sporting events held at the Police Barracks Playing Ground, along Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu.
At the end of the sporting events which involved several houses and lasted several hours, Purple House (named after Teezee) and Green House (PepC) emerged joint first runners-up on the medal table, while Blue House (Wake Up) and Orange (Edybang) were also joint second runners-up.
The well – attended and colorful sports festival featured student’s race in 50m, 100m, 200m and 400 x 100m (boys and girls).
Students also engaged in other events such as Match Pass, Lime & Spoon, Sack Race and Filing the Basket.
About five invited schools also participated in relay races (boys and girls).
Other highlights of the sporting events are the races by the patrons and parents at.
The sports event was attended by all the House sponsors which included Founder of the Pepc Foundation, Barr. Luqman Akinsanya and Prince Eniola ‘Wake – Up’ Adeyemi, an aspirant for the Lagos House of Assembly.
The event also witnessed the inauguration of new School Prefects and dissolution of the immediate past council.
Master Jacob Abraham Ayomiposi (Head Boy), Miss Suwedu Jessica (Head Girl), Master Akanji Godwin (Assistant Head Boy) and Miss Bakare Abike (Assistant Head Girl) were inaugurated alongside 17 other new Prefects of the school.
The Proprietor of the School, Comrade Idris Bello, in his address, thanked the outgone Prefects for their activities and for helping him in managing the school.
He said that he is going to miss their friendship while wishing them success in their examinations.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, Mr Aro Moshood commended the school for engaging their students in sporting activities which, according to him, will make them have complete education.
Aro, who said that he likes being in the midst of children, pledged his continuous support for the house named in his honour.
“I think that this is a wonderful and colorful inter – house sports. All the houses put up great competitions and at the end, my house emerged winners which shows that we are better”, he said.
“It is a very colourful event and I was really impressed because I am a sport man too and I can tell that it was properly organized.
“As a lover of children who always feel happy whenever I am in their midst, I really enjoy my stay here today and I will continue to support and encourage my House to sustain their championship. It has been part of my children/youth development agenda over the years”, he said
