An aspirant for the sole Ikorodu Constituency II seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun has called on Nigerians, especially citizenry in the Southwest of the country, to give maximum support to the Presidential aspiration of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Aroyewun said that Tinubu should be supported to recreate the impact he made when he was the Governor of Lagos State, at the national level.
The aspirant spoke with THE IMPACT at the kick – off of his campaign on Friday, April 1, 2022.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban Borgu, is a leader that has given birth and developed many other leaders”, Aroyewun said.
“Our National Leader that is aspiring to lead the country is the pioneer of modern Lagos. He has made Lagos State the best in Nigeria, and the state will continue to be the best.
“He is the pioneer of modern and functional Lagos and has built many leaders in different positions of eminence in the state and country as a whole.
“We are totally in support of him in his aspiration to be the President of Nigeria because of what he has done in Lagos and his efforts in building our party and the country at large.
“We must all support him to be able to bring his leadership qualities, managerial competency, exposure, connections and knowledge which he used in turning around Lagos State, to bear on the country at large”, he said.
“I charged and pleaded with you all, especially the entire Yoruba nation to give Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu necessary support for him to emerge our next President”, Aroyewun pleaded.
He said that Tinubu has the support of the ruling APC, which he said was shown to him at the just concluded National Convention of the party.
“Those at the last Convention of our great party in Abuja can testify to his popularity and acceptance by all and sundry”, he said.
“The atmosphere was charged when he arrived at the Convention venue. It was like when pilgrims are touring Kaabah because the people with him were massive. Even the President cannot match the crowd that he pulled when he arrived at the venue”.
