The Representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has stated that the camping and training that he annually organised for 150 youths from his constituency, was designed to empower and make beneficiaries create jobs for others.
Rep. Benson, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, made the statement while reacting to the resumption of the beneficiaries of the third edition of the training at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Oshodi, Lagos.
In a statement released late Wednesday evening by the lawmaker’s media team, the training, which will lasted for two weeks, will see beneficiaries being trained under strict supervision in discipline of their choice such as Crop Production, Animal Husbandry, Bakery/Confectionery and Photography, Cosmetic, Paint making and Car spraying.
According to the statement, Rep. Benson expressed excitement that another set of 150 constituents have resumed at the military facility to train and be equipped for the labour market.
“It was super exciting today (Tuesday, March 22) as my team from iCare Foundation visited the 150 shortlisted candidates for entrepreneurship training at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi”, Rep. Benson said.
“The participants, who resumed to camp officially on Sunday, 20th March, 2022, were met in high morale and were glad to be a part of the 2 weeks training with specialization in Crop Production, Animal Husbandry, Bakery/Confectionery, Photography, Cosmetic, Paint making and Car spraying,”.
He went further to encourage the applicants to be of best behaviour while at the camp and learn the rudiments required to become their own Bosses.
“It is our hope that the training will further expose the participants to the rudiments of their speciality and further empower the youths as job creators,” Rep. Benson averred.
