Igbogbo community in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, has secured the right to host the Round two of the 2022 Nigerian Beach Soccer League.
The announcement was made today by the national body of the league.
According to the Chief Host who is the team manager of the Igbogbo Beach Soccer Team, Prince Ademola Ogunlewe, the Igbogbo Town Stadium will host the games which will be played between Tuesday, March 15 and Saturday, March 20.
“The development was communicated to me today, but the decision to play Round 2 of the league in Lagos has been made since last year but it was decided that it should come to Igbogbo in Ikorodu Division a few weeks ago”, Prince Ogunlewe said.
He said that the decision was a joint one by the National Beach Soccer Association (NBSA), Lagos Beach Soccer, Lagos Football Association and the Ikorodu Football Association.
Prince Ogunlewe assured visiting teams and beach soccer fans across the country of a wonderful experience when they come to Igbogbo later in the month.
Ten teams are participating in this year’s league with Kebbi BSC who are the defending champions, leading the park. Other teams participating in the 2022 Beach Soccer league are Kwara BSC, Kada BSC, Kogi Confluence BSC, the trio of Lagos teams – Badagry Warriors BSC, Igbogbo BSC and Smart City BSC and the newcomers – Nmanko Pategi BSC, Kelme Galaxy BSC and Niger BSC.
