-Win second match 5-4
Igbogbo Beach Soccer Club (IBSC) kicked-off their 2022 Beach Soccer League with a defeat in their derby game against their city rival, Smart City Beach Soccer Club (SCBSC) 5-1, on Thursday, February 24.
The Nigeria Beach Soccer League kicked-off on Wednesday, February 23, in Ilorin, Kwara State, with ten clubs, two clubs more than the eight involved in the inaugural edition held in 2021.
In their second match played on the same day, IBSC narrowly defeated Niger BSC 5 – 4, to register their first win in the league.
The team was leading by 4 goals to nil in the first two periods before losing focus in the 3rd period and allowed their opponents back into the game before eventually sealing the victory in added time to secure 2points in the process.
A hat – trick from Oluwa Kazeem and a goal each from Bankole Idowu and Iremide Ayomide helped propel the team to victory.
Aside Kebbi BSC who are the defending champions, other teams participating in the 2022 Beach Soccer league are Kwara BSC, Kada BSC, Kogi Confluence BSC, the trio of Lagos teams – Badagry Warriors BSC, Igbogbo BSC and Smart City BSC and the newcomers – Nmanko Pategi BSC, Kelme Galaxy BSC and Niger BSC.
