-Igbogbo, Agric roads ready 2022 ending
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu has given assurance that the ongoing construction of major roads in Ikorodu and other parts of the state would be completed in 2022.
He said that jetties that are being constructed will complement road transportation in the state, adding that the construction of the much – promised 4th Mainland Bridge will kick – off mid – 2022.
The assurance, which was given by the Governor during his appearance on the Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television breakfast programme and contained in a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, was sent to THE IMPACT.
“Oba Sekumade road in Ikorodu has reached eighty percent completion stage and will be delivered in the second quarter of the year”, the statement said.
While stating that the Hi – Tech Construction, the contractor handling the Ipakodo – Igbogbo –Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road has returned to site, Sanwo – Olu also assured that the road and that of Agric – Isawo, both in Ikorodu Division and others in other parts of the state will be delivered by end of the year.
“The contractor is back on site at Igbogbo-Baiyeku road; construction work is progressing on Agric-Ishawo road and the Lagos Badagry Expressway up to Okokomaiko is to be completed by the end of year 2022.
“As the administration has also completed two out of the three jetties being constructed to complement the Expressway so that people can explore the shorter and faster waterways”.
He concluded by saying that the 4th Mainland Bridge is one of the legacy projects that the administration will leave behind as three concessionaires have already been shortlisted and a ground-breaking ceremony may be conducted by the middle of the year.
