A leading aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency II Assembly seat and a Prince of Egbin and Ijede, Hon. Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun has said that it’s important that members of the public to support the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Akeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, for establishing the first and only public school in Egbin.
He said this while donating a set of drums to the Egbin Kingdom Nursery and Primary Schools with pupils and staff of the school appreciative of the gesture.
Aside establishing the school, the royal father also provided pupils with free school uniforms, bags and books while there is also plan to provide daily meals for the pupils.
Aroyewun, who was a Commissioner nominee from Ikorodu Division for the cabinet of Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, also pledged to do more for the school so as to make the learning environment more conducive for the pupils.
“It’s very important that we must all support our Kabiyesi (Oba Oyebo) who single -handedly established the school to cater for the educational inadequacy in our domain”, he said.
“The royal majesty deserves whatever support and accolades that are coming his way because of the laudable project that he embarked upon which will go a long way in impacting positively on Egbin, Ijede and the generality of Ikorodu Division.
“Kabiyesi did not only establish the school but also sponsoring it. As a Prince from Gbarule Branch of Obateru Royal Kingdom and Ogunmuyiwa lineage of Ladega Ruling House of Ijede, I say long may the Alaiyeluwa live”, he prayed.
He charged the pupils to take their education seriously so as to become successful and important persons in the society and also contribute to the developments of the community.
Princess Adejoke Obateru, Secretary to Obateru, while receiving the set of drums on behalf of Obateru and the school, said that the donation came at the right time.
“It is like you are seeing our heart because we discussed how to get drums for the pupils and as God will have it, here we are today, you came at the appropriate time to make the donation”, she said.
“It’s shows you are the true son of the kingdom. May the Almighty God continue to bless you and grant your heart desires.
“On behalf of Obateru Royal school, we say thank you”, she added.
After the donation, Aroyewun, who was accompanied to the school with family members and associates, took time out to play drums with the pupils.
