The President of the Knight Club of Ikorodu, Knight Oluwaseyi Adelani Adelabu, has unveiled the club’s plans to meaningfully engage the current Miss Ikorodu – Oga, Miss Hannah Olubunmi Oyeniran who is representing the club.
He said that the visitation to the General Hospital, Ikorodu, to present gifts and cash donations to the First Baby in 2022 and other new born, is the first programme among many others that the club has designed to engage the beauty queen with.
Adelabu spoke with THE IMPACT on Saturday, January 1, 2022, when his club joined the royal family, eminent personalities and groups in visiting the medical facility.
Members of the club, led by its President, were accompanied on the visit by Miss Ikorodu.
The group also invited the Chairman, House Committee on Defense and the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson as guest on their visit.
The federal lawmaker, who was represented by Mr Rasheed Aregbesola, gave N50, 000 to the first baby in 2022, N25, 000 to the second baby and N10, 000 each to other babies in the ward at the time of the visit, including a mother of twins.
“As part of the activities to support and project Miss Ikorodu-Oga, Miss Bunmi Oyeniran who contested under the name of the Club, we embarked on the visitation to General Hospital Ikorodu to present gift to the Baby of the Year and other new born babies at the hospital”, Adelabu said.
“The idea was to change the narrative and get Miss Ikorodu-Oga more engaged in community projects that will project the office.
“The event was a great show of humanitarian service; a practice The Knights Club is well known for”.
He thanked the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and the Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo who led executives of the association to the hospital to also present gift items to the new born babies.
“Our appreciation goes to HRM Oba Kabir Shotobi and IKODASS Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Erogbogbo and other executive members of the association who, apart from being at the hospital to offer cash and gift items to the new babies as done yearly, also gave tremendous support to the beauty queen”, he said.
