The 1991/92 Class Set of the Shams – El – Deen Grammar School Old Students’ Association has received blessings and commendations from the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Shotobi.
The old school boys and girls received the royal blessing on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, when they paid a courtesy visit to the Ayangbure in his palace as part of the activities marking their 30th anniversary of passing out of the school.
Oba Shotobi, while receiving the old students, commended them for their commitment to the old school association, adding that it is a way of adding value and giving back to the school and contributing to its development.
The royal father, who is the Grand Patron of the Zummratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Lagos, also said that the old school associations are also veritable platforms to mentor and guide current students.
He prayed for them to celebrate many anniversary while also challenging them to identify more with the school by supporting brilliant students.
Hon. Yinka Majekodun, the Chairman of the Set, speaking earlier, thanked the Ayangbure for hosting them in commemoration of their anniversary.
He said that they are at the palace to pay homage to the King and to let him know about the anniversary of the set at the Shams – El – Deen Grammar School, Ikorodu, and get his royal blessings.
The Class set had, on Monday, December 13, 2021, donated communication gadgets and ceiling fans to their old school.
The grand finale/award comes up on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
