“In recent times, young people have been negatively represented and misconstrued as an agitated bunch but it is time to change the narratives. There is, therefore, a growing need to celebrate the youths who are driving positive change in different walks of life”, the statement read.
“Our intention is to celebrate outstanding young persons between the ages 18-40 years who are making an impact in their chosen fields and advancing national development.
“The nominees will be drawn from all walks of life including media, entertainment, entrepreneurship, arts and literature, sports, governance, public service, tech, agriculture, among others”, he added.
Badmus said that the theme of the awards, ‘The Working Tribe’, focuses on “hardworking young persons who have through a dint of consistent hard work created a niche for themselves in the centre of excellence. These folks will be honored as a motivating factor for other youths to also strive for greatness in their different endeavors”.
