The Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area, Builder Sesan Daini has stated that his second term in charge of the council’s administration will focus on improving road networks.
Other areas the Council boss said that he would also be attending to are delivery of good health care and provision of qualitative primary education among others.
Daini revealed his plans at the 1,584 Days in office celebration held at Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Secretariat on Monday, November 15, 2021.
While stating that infrastructural development is a major focus of his administration, the Council Chairman also added that the council would embark on construction of roads and drainage clearing.
“Our road infrastructure is the topmost priority of this administration: drainage clearing, palliative and construction of our roads will begin very soon”, Builder Daini said.
“ In order to improve the standard of our transportation system and security on our roads even at night, our administration will be installing solar powered street lights on Oba Molaja Road before the end of this year.
“The council’s legislature has approved the establishment of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Public Works to give urgent and immediate attention to our road damages to avoid deplorable situations”, he added.
He also stated that the council has resolved to ensure safety of lives of residents using commercial motorcycles by registering riders operating within the council.
He also said that the council is committed to delivering good health service to residents by renovating and expanding existing Primary Health Centres.
“The legislature equally approved the compulsory branding and profiling of every bike rider working in the LCDA; to ensure safety and security of our roads and people”, he said.
“Our administration is committed to the standard healthcare delivery system in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. Efforts are in top gear to rehabilitate and renovate both Offin and Elepe health centres.
“We are providing every support and supervision for the ongoing construction of the Comprehensive and Standard Primary Healthcare Centre in Agbele, Igbogbo. The abandoned Federal General hospital project is getting a push from Hon Babajimi Benson for completion.
“We have made provisions for the installation of two units of 300KVA transformers for some communities and we intend to do more”.
In the area of education, Builder Daini said that the council will deliver quality education by providing good learning environment and improved facilities.
“Our administration has adopted an uncompromising approach to both quantitative and qualitative primary education in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
“Part of our resolve is to ensure that all our primary schools are fenced to ensure our children are learning in a quiet and secured environment.
“ We have started the provision of benches and desks for all the primary schools and converted every blackboard to white marker board; as well as providing writing and instructional materials.
“The work on the modern library, facilitated by our administration, is in desired speed; the library will be delivered for public use soon.
“We are setting up Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s quality education team to monitor and ensure that our teachers are doing well and pupils are responsive.
“We are also embarking on provision of giving stipends to our primary schools’ head teachers to aid administration of education activities in the schools”.
As part of his administration’s efforts in improving education, the council boss also added that his administration has facilitated the establishment of the first public school in Olu – Odo.
“We have facilitated construction of the first public primary school in the Olu-odo community through the magnanimity of Hon. Babajimi Benson, after we received a donation of an acre of land from the Olu-odo family. The construction will, by God’s grace, be completed very soon and the first set of pupils will resume learning in the facility in 2022”, he said.
While stating that his administration has achieved so much in the area of securing lives and properties of residents, Daini also added that his administration is poised towards achieving more.
“So much has been achieved in securing lives and properties in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. However, a lot more will be done in this dispensation to gallantly nip insecurity in the bud”, he said.
“We have secured a land from Ijaolu ruling house to build a police station in Elepe Community.
“We have equally facilitated the State Government to build a police station in Agufoye community; the process of securing land for the project is ongoing.
“ We are working on getting approval to site marine police stations along our coastal lines to further secure lives and properties”, he revealed.
Daini also said that the developmental plans for agriculture in the council is still in place, while also adding that the revenue section of the council is also being reformed for better performance.
“The council’s agricultural plans and development training are in top gears to ensure food security and socio-economic empowerment of our people.
“We have decided to rebrand Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s revenue committee. The legislature has approved the new operational arm and logo, which will take effect from today”, he said.
“The new revenue operational arm will be provided with a unique uniform and a single treasury account will be introduced to avoid cash payment to any individual. This will strengthen our revenue generation base, increase our resources, capacity, accountability and service delivery.
“All we have done and all we plan to do are largely dependent on your uncompromising support and we do not take that for granted”.
The former Deputy Governor, Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, former Minister of Works, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurideen Solaja, former acting Commissioner/Special Adviser on Arts & Culture, Hon. (Chief) Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, APC Chieftain, Chief Adenrele Olowu, former Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Chairmen, Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa and Hon. Gbenga Basanya, former Sole Administrator of the council, Yeye Funmi Basorun and former Executive Secretary of the Council, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga were among the guests that attended the programme.
