The Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, who is also the Convener/Scout Master, IREP – Ikorodu Division Rebirth Foundation, on Friday, November 12, 2021, unveiled the local fabric, ‘Ankara’, for the 2021 Asa Arokolo Carnival.
This year’s edition of the carnival, which is recognized by the Lagos State Government, will take place on Thursday, November 16.
The logo for the celebration was unveiled on social media last week by chieftains of the IREP and members of the planning committee to signal the commencement of the carnival.
While unveiling the ‘Ankara’, Hon. Agunbiade said that the carnival did hold last year due to the COVID 19 pandemic, adding that it will be bigger and better this year.
He said that the organizers are mobilizing various segments of the community to stage a massive festival and make everyone be part of one of the foremost cultural heritage of Ikorodu.
The musicians that will be performing in this year’s edition of the carnival will be unveiled to the public soon.
The Ankara is available for sales N2000 at the Hon. Agunbiade Constituency Office, Grammar School, Ikorodu.
