The Chairman of the Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba on Monday identified with some very senior residents of council by putting smiles on their faces and in return, they shower prayers and encomium on her.
She went round parts of the council distributing food bags of food items and cash to some of these aged people who are now confined indoors due to old age and sickness in their various houses.
The distribution was part of her administration’s food support program for the residents, tagged, “Ijede Tunrayo Ayo Nitemi”, which will be done quarterly.
The tour which included the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Kareem Kabir, Councilors and senior management team, afforded the Chairman the opportunity to interact with senior residents that had various times served the community while they were young and agile.
First to visit during the about two hours tour was Mrs Faidat Olutusin who is 73 years old and Chief Olamilekan Olutusin, 76, who is the Oluwo of ijede.
Both were presented with their food items and cash at the Olutusin Royal family compound, Orere, Ijede.
Within the Itundesan area of Ijede, the team visited Alhaja Memunat Kehinde, 85, Mrs Silifat Lawal, 85, and Alhaja Lamina Morili, 105, the Iya Oloja of Ijede.
In Ipakan, Mr Abiodun Adekonle, 73 and Chief Adebisi Jack, 77 were attended to, while Alhaja Uzamat Ojikutu, 106 years and an Alhaji who was said to be over 100 years were also presented with items.
At Oke Eletu, Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba and her team visited Chief Lamina Saka, 80 years and Chief Shonubi Salisu, 90 years and were presented with bags containing food items and cash as part of her administration’s support for the aged and residents of Ijede LCDA.
During the tour, the senior residents who are happy to see the chairman and other elected representatives showered commendations and prayers on Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba for remembering them.
