Within about two months of his inauguration as Councillor representing Ward F in the legislative arm of the Ikorodu local government, Hon. Oluwakemi Buraimoh has displayed a strong commitment as a local representative who is prepared for the job he was elected to do.
He patched the deplorable roads in Olayemi and Osholigbehin streets with rubbles while he updates his constituents on his activities in the Ikorodu Local Government Legislative House from time to time among other activities.
Over the weekend, the young lawmaker facilitated a borehole water project through the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency I and the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade and also embarked on the clearing of the drainage system in his Ward.
According to a statement, Hon. Buraimoh said that he realised that water is a major need of people of Owode in Ward F during his interaction with the people and that he had to reach out to his leader who paid for a borehole project for the area.
“While interacting with my Constituents (Ward F, Ikorodu Local Government), I had a chat with the good people of Owode, Anibaba and I realized that one of the many things the communities need is Pipe Borne Water”, he said.
“Due to the other projects we have embarked on since resumption in office, I couldn’t take on the project single-handedly.
“However, l reached out to my father and leader, Hon S.O.B Agunbiade, the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Opomulero of Ikorodu Kingdom, who immediately ordered and paid for the construction of the borehole”.
“We will continue to do our best for the betterment of our dear Ward”, he assured his constituents.
The construction of the borehole began on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
In his quest to ensure that roads within his Ward are motorable, Hon. Buraimoh has also continued doing palliative work on them with Oshikoya and Andu streets in Anibaba area getting his attention on Sunday, October 31.
In a statement sent to THE IMPACT, Hon. Buraimoh said:
“In my quest to ensure motorable roads and convenience for the people of my ward, yesterday, I got some labourers to work on Oshikoya and Andu streets in Anibaba area”, he said.
“We cleared the drainages and used the scraps to fill the big potholes on that route.
“This will further aid easy flow of traffic and the pressure on Ireshe-Anibaba road before the State Government provides a permanent solution on the road”, he added.
“I, hereby, appreciate the people of the two communities for their cooperation towards achieving this task.
“I shall continue to do all within my capacity, with the cooperation of my people, to ensure good living conditions in my ward”.
