Former State Commissioner and Council Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, has emerged as the new State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State Congress held on Saturday (today).
The election of the candidates for the 36 positions at the congress took place at the Onikan Stadium in the Lagos Island area of the state.
Ojelabi was the Chairman of Ojo Local Government in 1997 on the platform of the defunct Grassroots Democratic Party (GDM) and also, Member, House of Representatives representing the Ojo Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011. Thereafter, he served as Commissioner for Rural Development between 2011 and 2015.
THE IMPACT gathered that the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body in the party in the state, had, during the week, resolved on the Chairmanship and other positions and created a consensus list which was ratified through voice votes at the congress.
Former Member, Lagos State House of Assembly and former Commissioner, Lagos State House of Assembly Commission, Hon. (Barr.) Olanrewaju Sunmi Odesanya, emerged as the State Secretary; former Commissioner for Special Duties in the state, Seye Oladejo emerged the Publicity Secretary, while former Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale is the Organising Secretary.
Other new officers of the party are Olalenrewaju Maiyegun (Deputy chairman), Animausun A. Adejumoke (Assistant Secretary), Tunde Aboyade (State Vice Chairman, West), Oladunjoye, (State Vice Chair, East), Hon Abayomi Daramola (State Vice Chairman, Central).
There are also Folasade Bakare (Legal Adviser, Central), Adebola Adewunmi-Ladigbolu (Assistant Legal, West), Biodun Aigbe (State Treasurer), Oludele Sonola (Assistant Treasurer), Doyin Banjo (State Financial Secretary), Alhaja Funke Olaleye (Assistant Financial Secretary), Bayo Sanwo-Olu (Assistant State Organizing Secretary), Yesiru Karamo (Assistant Publicity Secretary), Kehinde Adeniyi (State Welfare Secretary), Akinola Idowu (Assistant State Welfare Secretary), Doyin lkuda (State Auditor), Salisu
Elegushi (Assistant State Auditor), Jumped Okoya-Thomas (State Woman Leader), Kehinde Babalola (Assistant Woman leader), Dr Muritala Seriki (State Youth Leader).
