44 students from various Senior Secondary Schools across the Ikorodu Division, today, took part in the Mathematics competition organized by the Ikorodu Division Human Resource Development Board (IDHRDB) under the auspices of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG).
Two students each represented 22 schools at the competition held at the main auditorium of the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu.
According to the Administrative Secretary of the IDRDG, examination papers would be marked next week to determine the best three students who are going to be giving award during the 20th Prof. A.A. Adegbola Memorial Lecture at the Ikorodu Town Hall on November 6, 2021.
During the examination, participants answered 90 questions made – up of 60 multiple choice questions and 30 Short – Structured Answer Questions (SAQ) covering the whole syllabus for the SSS, which were answered in 90minutes.
Prof. (Chief) Kunle Ade Wahab, OON, OFR, Chairman, IDHRDB, who said that he was once like the participants, charged them to work towards being great in life by focusing on their education.
The Permanent Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Board (LSUBEB), Dr Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle who also engaged participants, charged them to shun cultism, drugs and other social vices.
According to organizers, the objective of the competition is to stimulate, motivate and encourage students’ interest in Mathematics and prepare them for SSCE, increase confidence in solving Mathematics problems and promote the idea of competitions among students.
