The First Vice Chairman, Lagos State Obas & Chiefs and Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, has once again reiterated that the Ikorodu Division must produce the next Governor of the state.
The revered royal father, who has been saying publicly that he would be ready to do battle with anyone that works against Ikorodu’s interest in producing the next governor, again made his position known at the 2021 edition of the Oba Kabir Shotobi Independence Day Mini – Marathon at the Police Barracks Playing Ground, Ikorodu on Friday, October 1, 2021.
Oba Shotobi had, in the mid – week, declared his intention to the chieftains of the Lagos chapter of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) when the group paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Ikorodu.
“I have always been saying this and let me emphasise it again today that the next governor of Lagos State must come from Ikorodu”, Oba Shotobi declared.
“Ikorodu will support Sanwo – Olu (the incumbent governor) for second term and if possible for third term if the constitution allows him, but after him, the next governor must come from Ikorodu”, the revered royal father emphasized.
Speaking during the visit of the South West Agenda for Tinubu, the royal father said that he would always support the government in power since all his demands for Ikorodu are being met, while also making his mind known to the APC chieftains concerning who succeeds Sanwo – Olu as governor of Lagos State.
“I thank the government for always listening and doing all that I have been asking for in Ikorodu and I don’t have any reason not to support the government”, he said.
“I have also been urging my people to obey the government’s rules and regulations, but there will still be fights in the future and I will be the one to lead the fight.
“I will support Sanwo – Olu for the second term and the third term if the constitution permits it but after Sanwo – Olu’s tenure, it must be the turn of Ikorodu.
“Until Ikorodu produces the governor of the state, I will not relent”, Oba Shotobi said
