The Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), Bashorun Babatunde Rotinwa, has said that the Ayangbure International Commodity Market, popularly called Sabo market, has created more problems than the revenue generated from it.

Bashorun Rotinwa, who was the former Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, spoke at the panel session themed, “Towards an effective local government administration”, held at the 500 – seater auditorium, Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu main campus.

He called on the Ikorodu Local Government to see to how the market can be properly utilized and effectively serve its purposes.

“Look at the Sabo market that we have been calling their attention to without anything being done. Today, the market is creating more problems than the revenue that it is generating”, Bashorun Rotinwa said.

He said that the market, which is disorganized and chaotic, needed proper planning and administration.

The retired top government official also called for the relocation of the ram market that exists at the market to another location for proper management of the market.

“I don’t know why they are still keeping the cattle market at Sabo. They can’t even think that the ram market can create another market elsewhere. It should be moved away from Sabo market”, he said.
