The Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, has described the death of Pa Falabake Ogbe, Esq., as a great loss for Ikorodu, legal profession and Church.
Pa Ogbe, who died last Saturday, was a senior lawyer of many decades and former Commissioner in the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission.
In a statement by the Press Secretary to the IKODASS Chairman, titled, ‘Glorious Exit Of Pa Falabake Ogbe, A Foremost Community Developer, Legal Practitioner’, Mr Erogbogbo said:
“Ikorodu has lost a rare gem in the death of Pa Falabale Ogbe, Esq, the head of the Odujumo Araba family and a senior legal practitioner of many decades”, Erogbogbo said.
“He was a foremost community developer, students’ activist and soul winner for God and his Church.
“Late Pa Ogbe served as a Commissioner in the Lagos State Local Government Service.
The IKODASS Chairman said that the Ikorodu Town hall which is one of the major monuments in Ikorodu and which has been hosting the IKODASS secretariat and other major events, was initiated by late Pa Ogbe and others.
“Pa Ogbe contributed immensely to the development of Ikorodu. He, alongside others, initiated the need to have a befitting Town Hall in Ikorodu community. They equally ensured its actualization”, he said.
“Today, the ultra modern hall is not only hosting the Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS) but other important institutions and functions in Ikorodu.
He also commended the impact of the late head of the Odujumo Araba family in the legal profession and to the development of the local government administration.
Mr Erogbogbo expressed the IKODASS condolences to the people of Ikorodu, especially the family of the late community leader, for the loss.
“Pa Ogbe was a great mind who also contributed to the development of the legal profession in Ikorodu and also encouraged and trained many other young lawyers who are today doing great things.
“As a former Commissioner in the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Pa Ogbe also facilitated the employment of many Ikorodu sons and daughters into the service and today, many of these are in top cadre of the service.
“We express our condolences to the entire Ikorodu people, Odujumo–Araba and Ogbe families and more importantly, sons and daughters of late Pa S.F. Ogbe. May Olodumare grant him eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss”, he said.
