The Permanent Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas & Chiefs and the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has commended members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm for the support that the palace has been receiving since his ascension of the throne of his fore fathers.
Oba Shotobi gave the commendations on Monday (yesterday) while addressing journalists from selected media houses within and outside Ikorodu at the commemoration of his 6th coronation anniversary.
The First Class royal father said that he is always pleased to be honoured with the journalists for always honouring his invites and for their support.
“Whatever function or event that is not properly monitored and aired, nobody would know about it and I am always pleased and honoured to have you here today”, Oba Shotobi said.
“May God be with you and continue to give you more exposure and power of the pen and paper to dictate and direct the society in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as stated and guaranteed in the Freedom of Expression and Speech.
“I want to thank you for this kind gesture to cover the event of today which is in commemoration of my six years anniversary of wearing the traditional beaded crown as the Ayangbure of Ikorodu.
“I want to thank you for honouring me each time that I call on you.
“May God be with you and entire people of Ikorodu”.
Oba Shotobi also charged journalists to ensure that they report the truth and positive stories about the palace and Ikorodu at all times.
