Thousands of Muslim faithful in Ikorodu Division and its environs on Tuesday trooped out of their homes to observe prayers in celebration of 2021 Eid-el-Kabir.
Our reporter who went round reported that both old and young thronged the praying grounds in their respective areas to observe the prayers.
The popular Obafemi Awolowo way and other major roads were blocked as residents rushed to the eid praying grounds.
In Ikorodu Local Government, the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division and the Chief Imam of Ikorodu Central Mosque, Sheikh Sefiudeen Olorunosebi Olowo – Oribi led the prayer at the Ikorodu Central Mosque Praying Ground along Awolowo Road, ikorodu.
In the congregation were the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, the Majority of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Bolanle Agunbiade and many other dignitaries.
At the Oriwu Central Mosque Praying Ground located within the Shams – El –Deen area, Sheikh Yahya Oshoala As – Samadani, the Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque also led many Muslim faithful in prayer in commemoration of the 2021 Eid – El – Kabir prayer.
Chief Abdul Wasiu Layembi Oyenuga, Olootu Omob, Lasunwon Ruling House, Hon. Justice Yaqub Gbadebo Oshoala, a Lagos Judge, Chief Abdul Rafiu Alade Abiodun, Eketa Adini Oriwu Central Mosque and Alhaji Lookman Oshoala, father of Barca female striker, Asisat Oshoala are some of the dignitaries that observed their Eid – El – Kabir prayer at the Oriwu Central Mosque Praying Ground in Ikorodu.
