-As party flag – off campaign for July 24 elections.
Chieftains and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area, on Thursday (yesterday), defied the heavy downpour to kick – off campaign for the Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, July 24, 2021.
At the venue of the rally along the Agric – lsawo road were members of the party from various Wards in the council.
Party flags were presented to the Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, the Vice Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Adesegun Aluko and the five Councillorship candidates as flag bearers.
The Councillorship candidates of the party that were presented as flag bearers ate Mrs. Enitan Jessica Oba (Ward A), Mr Batife Daisi (Ward B), Mr. Adelaja Abimbola Bello (Ward C), Hon. Tejumaiye Adeyanju Julius (Ward D) and Mr Abimbola Taiwo (Ward E).
Alhaji Olakitan, the APC Chairman in Ikorodu West LCDA, while kicking – off the campaign and presenting flags to the candidates, congratulated them for emerging as the party’s flag bearers.
While recognizing stakeholders at the rally, he said that the purpose of the gathering was to kick – start campaign for the coming elections and present the party’s flag to the candidates.
Alhaji Olakitan said that party members must ensure victory for APC because they do not have any other party to go to.
Barrister Adio Jamiu Saka, while presenting the flag to the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates with the support of the party chairman, said that the party has done well in given opportunities to youths to manage the council’s affairs.
He charged party members to work for the victory of the party in the coming elections.
Mr Agbi, the Chairman of the APC Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the elections, also speaking, charged party members to stop sharing unverified stories on the social media.
He said that there has been significant transformation in the council under the ruling party since its creation 17 years ago.
Hon Agbi said that the road network and other infrastructures in the council have been developed since its formation while also stating that the ongoing construction of Agric – Isawo and Oba Sekumade roads would further accelerate developments in the council when completed.
He, therefore, called on the electorates to cast their votes for the party in the coming council elections.
