Adebax FC and Eazigo FC, yesterday, picked up the two final spots for the quarter final stage of the on going 13th edition of the Bolowotan Gold Cup in lkorodu, as the remaining in the tournament are ready to fight for the semi final tickets.
In the first match played yesterday, Adebax FC continued their winning streak in the competition as they beat Planet FC 2 – 1.
The second match of the day between Eazigo FC and Golden Dollars FC, which was also the last to be played in Round of 16, ended 1 – 0 in favour of Eazigo FC which are also unbeaten in the tournament.
Adebax and Eazigo will now join TCCG FC, Greater Height FC, F.A. Victory FC, Sharon FC, NTAB FC and Excel FC in the Quarter Finals that will be played this weekend at the Police Barracks Playing Ground which is the venue of the tournament.
According to Comrade Olanrewaju Odenike, the Coordinator of the tournament, he said that the quarter finals will commence on Friday, 16th July, 2021, with the match between the cup holders, F.A Victory FC and Sharon FC at 2.00pm, while TCCG FC will confront Greater Height FC by 5.00pm on same day.
On Saturday, July17th, NTAB FC will host Excel FC at 2pm, while Adebax FC and Eazigo FC will do battle in the last game of the quarter final stage by 4.00pm.
Speaking further in an interview with THE IMPACT, Comrade Odenike said that the just concluded Round of 16 separated men from the boys while he described officiating as superb.
“The round of 16 matches witnessed lots of excitement and were tougher than those played in the group stage because that was the stage where men were separated from boys”, he said.
“The officiating has been fair and superb and the officials have been adhering strictly to the rules of the game.
The Coordinator of the IDFA League also commended club fans and other spectators for their good conducts since the beginning of the tournament.
“The turnout of fans has been so encouraging, impressive and their attitude is satisfactory”, Comrade Odenike said.
