NTAB FC and Excel FC yesterday (Monday, July 12, 2021) joined six other teams in the quarter finals of the ongoing Bolowotan Gold Cup at the Police Barracks Playing Ground in Ikorodu.
While NTAB FC, which were the home team, Beat Edunz FC 2 – 0 in the first match of the day which commenced at 2.00pm, Excel FC, which were also the home team, defeated Offin Ile FC 1 – 0.
The two teams will be joining TCCG FC, Greater Height FC, F.A. Victory FC and Sharon FC which had earlier qualified for the quarter finals stage from the Round of 16 matches played on Saturday, July 9, 2021.
The last two matches in the Round of 16 will be played today (Tuesday) as Adebax FC host Planet FC and Eazigo.FC, which is playing at home, will do battle with Dollar FC.
A total of 32 teams started the 13th edition of the Bolowotan Gold Cup, also popularly called the ‘Ikorodu World Cup’ about a month ago while the round of 16 is currently on going and would be concluded today.
The eight teams that would emerge from the round of 16 will proceed to the quarter final stage of the tournament.
